CONNECTIONS PASTOR

Job overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Connections Pastor to lead our congregation and provide spiritual guidance to our community. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a deep commitment to serving others. This role requires effective communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to present engaging sermons that inspire and uplift. The Connections Pastor plays a key role in aligning the services strategy with Kingdom Expansion Ministries International’s mission, vision, and values. This role is dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment for the youth, while continuously assessing best practices and implementing innovative approaches to address the dynamics of a growing church. The Youth Pastor will oversee four areas: Hospitality, Assimilation, Volunteer Engagement, and Security. In addition, the Connections Pastor will have pastoral duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Hospitality
- • Provide leadership for first impressions, ensuring excellent experiences at all touch-points, including parking lots, hosts, welcome desks, the guest lounge, and lobby/common areas during weekend services and special events.
- • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to make guests feel welcome from their arrival through the end of their visit.
- • Oversee the physical environment of lobbies and common areas, ensuring spaces reflect Kingdom Expansion Ministries International’s values and encourage the next steps for youth.
- • Ensure that all signage is clear, accurate, and up to date.
Assimilation
- • Develop and execute strategies to assimilate new guests, ensuring they feel connected and valued through thoughtful first touch-points and follow-up experiences.
- • Manage the guest lounge experience to foster meaningful connections for newcomers.
- • Ensure timely and effective follow-up on connect cards and guest interactions.
Volunteer Engagement
- • Recruit: Actively recruit new volunteers to serve in roles across the guest services and youth ministry.
- • Train: Provide comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training to volunteers to foster personal growth and service excellence.
- • Schedule: Oversee scheduling for all guest services volunteer roles to ensure adequate coverage and smooth operations.
- • Care: Build a culture of encouragement and appreciation for volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported in their roles.
Security
- • Maintain best practice and protocols to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests, staff, and volunteers during weekend services and special events.
Pastoral
- • Provide scriptural guidance, encouragement, and counsel to congregation members in various stages of their faith journey.
- • Administer sacrament, including communion and baptism in alignment with church traditions and policies.
- • Officiate weddings and funerals, offering pastoral care to individuals and families during significant life events.
- • Lead weekly worship services and deliver impactful sermons that resonate with the congregation.
- • Provide spiritual counseling and support to individuals and families, including those in hospice care.
- • Educate the congregation through Bible studies, workshops, and community outreach programs.
- • Foster a welcoming environment by actively engaging with members of the community.
- • Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to plan events and programs that promote spiritual growth.
- • Conduct ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms, and funerals with sensitivity and care.
- • Write newsletters, articles, and other communications to keep the congregation informed and engaged.
Skills
- • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey messages of faith.
- • Strong leadership abilities to guide the congregation in their spiritual journeys.
- • Proficient in public speaking to deliver sermons and presentations confidently.
- • Ability to educate others through teaching and mentoring within the church community.
- • Compassionate approach towards individuals in hospice care or those facing life challenges.
- • Creative writing skills for crafting engaging content for newsletters and other church communications.
- • Committed to the vision, mission, and values of Kingdom Expansion Ministries International.
Qualifications
- • Leadership experience and guest services, Hospitality, or relatable field.
- • Ability to handle feedback and make data informed improvements.
- • Experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
- • Credential minister with accredited learning body.
